Le Nain
From France, this painting by Louis Le Nain, is
fabulous in its texture and detail. When you look
at the stamp up close you see the printing ridges.
It was not a flat image when duplicated. Rich hues
of copper and brown, this peasant man sits at a
table with a gourd and knife. He has a wide brimmed
floppy hat and appears to be looking at someone.
Paper: taupe, Japanese braided weave and a dark
papyrus bark.
